TOUR DIARY Part Three: Missing My Pooch and a Birmingham Croissant Delight
Tour is amazing, but the longing for my furry friend is growing.
Nottingham - starting to really feel my feet during this show, and when I say that I mean I’m settling into the rhythm of playing shows every night and staying present and connected. It’s a wonderful feeling. Sometimes performing, like I’ve mentioned before, is like walking a tightrope for me - always aware of losing my footing and falling off the rope from a great height. When it’s like that performing becomes real work to stay focused and in the moment. Now I’m feeling calmer and more confident with only 4 shows left. Ha! Better late than never.
I was given a gift. A book of poems. Very sweet to get a gift! I think this person was expecting me to be traveling with my Mini Aussie companion looking at the title of this book, but I left Misha behind to have a proper dog’s life in the company of an Irish Wolf Hound and two other much smaller dog friends.
Birmingham - finally feeling settled in my show, so I was able to watch Bryde’s full set and hear her voice soar. What a lovely person that Sarah. She’s also a photographer and took a few photos of me backstage. Normally picture taking of me is a real nightmare, but she managed to take ones I like and made it quite painless.
I met the young Mimi and her parents who told me they saw me play at Green Man and Mimi was with them either in the womb or out of it and tiny tiny I can’t remember which now. I thoroughly enjoyed that story and appreciate Mimi not rebelling against her parents yet and deciding to hate my music. Thank you Mimi! Listen to your parents…most of the time…at least when the subject is music.
Starting to feel the pang of missing my pooch and wondering if he’s missing me. I don’t want him to be TOO happy without me. Changed my flight to come home a few days early.
This morning I had the best croissant ever…in Birmingham!
Off to Norwich.

TOUR DIARY Part Three: Missing My Pooch and a Birmingham Croissant Delight
I'm going to repost a comment I made on Instagram, forgive me for being so lazy but this late summer heat is stifling.
>>Thank you for being so kind, lovely and accommodating our breathless enthusiasm. We love you so much, Mimi has been listening to Riderless Horse all the way through in the bath the last couple of nights and I can't imagine that changing very soon. Your songs mean the world to us all and have done for a very long time.<<
Super curious about that croissant although we're not short of good coffee/bakery spots.
I'm certain the rest of the tour has been wonderful, wishing you a very happy reunion with Misha. Please come back to the UK again before too long.
I guarantee your dog misses you, and will be sooo glad to see you again.
